Local Mountain Indian guide Marco Magno helps wine loving hikers find the source of the water for the southern vineyards of Cafayate, Salta, Argentina. The hike leads to a series of waterfalls in the mountains west of the Calchaquí Valley, home to some of the finest wines produced in Argentina. Cafayate is being discovered for its outstanding wines, including the newly touted Torrontés wines (see the New York Times Torrontés article). Consistantly outstanding wines are produced in in Cafayate due to fresh mountain water, elevation, and wind.
